Electrical Maintenance Technician, Sheffield, South Yorkshire - Salary 18K - 22K + Pension and Health Care Plan
Our client is an Engineering firm specializing in Bridge design and are now looking to recruit a Electrical Maintenance Technician.
Main Responsibilities
· Provide first line maintenance support to the business. · Co-ordination of all Planned Maintenance activities, to maintain machine availability through effective planned and breakdown maintenance, · Maintain a safe working environment throughout the unit by working to ensure that all engineering activity is carried out to the appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and that appropriate control measures are in place. To develop a safe system of work. To include training and competence checking of blue collar and contractor personnel. · To co-ordinate activities of engineering contractors on site · To recommend and affect plant modifications for plant immobilisation procedures to ensure safe working practices, to improve plant availability, performance and quality. · To provide the necessary support in the training and development of placement students, apprentices and operations employees. · To provide electrical & mechanical support within the department and to have direct responsibility for the electrical maintenance of all items of plant. · Develop Engineering Management databases to ensure secure historical data including work requests, completed work lists, preventative maintenance plans, budgetary control, plant availability & component failure rates. · Provide Engineering support to facilitate identification, development and implementation programmes for quality, yield and throughput to achieve business targets. · Implement a preventative maintenance program utilising the latest condition monitoring technology build resultant captured data into an Engineering database to initiate remedial actions prior to failure · Control local Engineering records to ensure plant modifications are recorded in a professional manner · Implement and adhere to the Departments Environmental Management system (ISO14001) by maintaining current systems and introducing continuous improvement through targets and objectives · To actively support & promote the ?Distribution Operations Way?
Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
A keen awareness of all Health & Safety and Environmental legislative requirements. A comprehensive knowledge of the plant and processes. A HNC*D in Electrical Engineering A good understanding of mechanical*hydraulic*pneumatic engineering & plc systems A knowledge of COSHH Sound analytical problem solving & IT skills Familiarity with the site?s permit to work systems & risk assessment practices
